WP 3 - SOCIO-ECONOMIC POLITICAL CONTEXTBased on the conceptual framework developed in WP2, the overall aim of this work package is to analyse the socio-political context within which realistic decisions are made.
This has been achieved by providing an evaluation of current policy making in relation to disadvantaged youth by:
> mapping current policy processes and social support measures across partner countries; and by
> providing a capability orientated statistical analysis of measures of inequality in each country.
SocIEtY analysed existing youth policy and activities as well as informational bases against inequalities, using a combination of policy and documentary analysis, as well as stakeholder interviews and statistical analysis. In terms of statistics, a limited longitudinal data analysis for every partner will be carried out by combining EU-SILC data with contextual variables.
WP 5 - PARTICIPATORY RESEARCH
WP 5 will be the core empirical research package. It shall build upon and deploy the theoretical, conceptual and empirical work done so far in regional case studies.
In WP5, SocIEtY brings together relevant stakeholders from the young people’s social support networks and in the city districts. It will be a learning tool for young people, civil society, third sector actors and policymakers. Case studies will be compared through the common methodology developed in WP4.
The results will be used to generate new hypotheses and hence broaden the informational basis of the statistical analysis through the respective indicators and their potential relevance for the outcomes of the young people’s transitional phase, will be verified and documented.
This will enable policies to be developed from a broader and more realistic basis.
